Application - For future Honey Queens! Become the 2026–2027 North Carolina Honey Queen
Are you passionate about agriculture, public speaking, education or making a difference? As the North Carolina Honey Queen, you'll spend a year serving as the official ambassador for North Carolina's honey and beekeeping industry while gaining valuable professional experience, leadership skills and a scholarship.
You'll travel across North Carolina visiting schools, festivals, farmers markets, civic organizations and beekeeping events to educate the public about honeybees, beekeeping and the importance of supporting local honey producers. You'll also represent the program through television, radio, newspaper, podcast and social media interviews while building valuable communication and public relations experience.
What You'll Do
● Travel throughout North Carolina as a spokesperson for the state's honey and beekeeping industry
● Inspire audiences through presentations, demonstrations and educational programs
● Represent the program at festivals, fairs, schools, civic organizations and industry events
● Create engaging social media content and participate in media interviews
● Build relationships with beekeepers, community leaders and agricultural organizations
● Attend the American Beekeeping Federation convention and compete for the opportunity to become the American Honey Queen
Who Should Apply?
Applicants must:
● Be a female, residing in North Carolina, who is at least 18 years old by January 1, 2027, and no older than 25 on January 1, 2028
● Hold a high school diploma (or equivalent)
● Have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
● Be willing to travel extensively throughout North Carolina
● Enjoy meeting new people, communicating with diverse audiences, and serving as a positive ambassador for agriculture
No beekeeping experience is required. We're looking for enthusiastic, dependable young women who
are excited to learn, educate others, and represent one of North Carolina's most important agricultural
industries.
